Success Guide

This is a practical, hands on role so your CV should highlight the trade test and the apprenticeship you completed. List the machines and tools you have actually worked with, like lathes, milling machines, DTI and feeler gauges. If you have experience with blowers, compressors or pneumatic systems, put that near the top.

Because the job covers both Durban and Johannesburg, be clear in your application about which location suits you. In the interview, expect questions about how you diagnose mechanical faults and how you measure clearances. Being able to explain your repair process step by step will count in your favour. Also mention your overhead crane experience if you have it.
