Workshop Quality Controller / Diesel Technician Foreman (Commercial Trucks)
The Recruitment Guy · Multiple locations: Midvaal, Middelburg, Witbank, Ermelo, Pongola, Newcastle, Richards Bay, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Pinetown
Overview
A well established commercial truck group needs experienced Diesel Technicians or Workshop Foremen to do final quality inspections across multiple workshops in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu Natal. If you take pride in workmanship and want a stable, permanent role where your decades of practical knowledge are valued, this could be a great fit. Semi retired and mature professionals are encouraged to apply.
About the role
This is a permanent opportunity for a highly experienced Diesel Technician or Workshop Foreman to join a busy commercial truck group with workshops across South Africa. You will be the last line of defence before a truck leaves the workshop, making sure every repair, service and maintenance job is done right the first time.
Your days will involve conducting final quality inspections, performing diagnostic checks and road tests, and verifying that all job card items and customer complaints have been properly addressed. You will identify incomplete repairs or poor workmanship and send vehicles back to technicians for corrective action. You will also assist with advanced diagnostics on difficult jobs and work closely with Service Advisors, Workshop Foremen and Technicians to keep standards high.
This role suits a calm, methodical professional who commands respect and takes ownership of workmanship standards. It is ideal for a seasoned expert who wants to remain active in the industry, mentor younger staff and enjoy a less demanding but meaningful supervisory role.
