About the role
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for keeping the warehouse running smoothly and safely. This is a hands on role where you will supervise a team and make sure all chemical handling and storage follows strict safety rules.
What you will be doing:
- Supervise receiving, storage, picking, dispatching, and stock movement
- Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate stock discrepancies
- Manage the safe handling, labelling, and segregation of hazardous chemicals
- Coordinate logistics, deliveries, and transport schedules
- Conduct regular stock counts and inventory audits
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ requirements and HAZMAT procedures
- Train and support warehouse staff to keep productivity high
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised, and audit ready at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role within chemical manufacturing
- A stable employment record showing reliability and long term commitment
- Matric
- Strong knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and warehouse administration
- Practical experience handling and storing hazardous materials (HAZMAT)
- Solid understanding of logistics, distribution, receiving, and dispatch operations
- Experience with inventory management systems, ERP systems, or warehouse management systems
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety procedures and chemical handling requirements
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, dispatching, and stock movement
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure effective stock control and reconciliation
- Manage the safe handling, storage, labelling, and segregation of hazardous chemicals
- Coordinate logistics, deliveries, dispatch schedules, and transport arrangements
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ requirements, HAZMAT procedures, and chemical storage regulations
- Monitor stock levels to minimise losses and maintain optimal inventory
- Supervise, train, and support warehouse personnel
- Maintain accurate warehouse documentation such as delivery notes and goods received notes
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organised, secure, and audit ready
