Namaqua Wines is looking for a hands on Warehouse Supervisor to join their Kempton Park branch. You will support the Warehouse Manager in keeping stock moving, dispatching drivers, running stock takes and making sure the warehouse stays safe and organised. If you have at least 2 years of supervisory experience, a valid driver's licence and a sharp eye for detail, this is a solid opportunity in the FMCG and wine industry.
About the role
Namaqua Wines is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor for their Kempton Park branch. You will report directly to the Warehouse Manager and help keep the warehousing and distribution operation running smoothly every day.
What you will be doing:
- Allocating drivers to routes and handing out route sheets
- Dispatching drivers and contract drivers once invoices are checked and verified
- Overseeing the loading and offloading of trucks and doing final checks against order forms
- Planning the warehouse floor and making sure goods are stacked and stored according to FIFO and lot number rotation
- Receiving and checking inbound orders, doing blind counts and reporting shortages
- Managing leave, time cards, overtime and training for warehouse and distribution staff
- Running daily Gemba walks to spot hazards and improvements
- Checking PODs, invoices, returns and credits, and liaising with admin and inventory teams daily
- Prepping and conducting stock takes and keeping accurate stock records
- Making sure PPE is worn and health and safety rules are followed by everyone on site
You may be required to work weekends and public holidays from time to time.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Matric certificate
- Studying towards a logistics degree is advantageous
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Above average computer literacy
- Advanced knowledge of warehousing and distribution practices
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
- No criminal record
- Valid forklift licence and reach truck licence are advantageous
- Preference will be given to candidates who live in the Kempton Park area or are willing to relocate
Responsibilities
- Allocate and manage drivers on routes daily
- Generate and issue route sheets to distribution staff
- Dispatch drivers and contract drivers after verifying invoices
- Oversee truck loading and offloading and check goods against order forms
- Plan warehouse floor layout and ensure FIFO and lot number rotation
- Receive and check inbound orders and report shortages
- Manage staff time cards, leave, overtime and arrange training for new staff
- Check PODs, invoices, returns and credits processed by admin
- Liaise daily with administration and inventory departments
- Conduct stock takes and prepare write off stock for destruction
- Manage shrinkages and keep accurate stock records
- Ensure health and safety compliance, including PPE checks and incident investigations
- Conduct daily Gemba walks to identify hazards and improvements
- Lock doors, windows and gates daily and watch for fire hazards
- Assist with inter branch transfers as needed
