Upmarket Cocktail Waiter or Waitress at Sea Point Restaurant

An upmarket restaurant and cocktail venue in Sea Point is looking for professional, energetic and customer focused waiters and waitresses to join its service team. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service so that guests enjoy a memorable dining experience in a sophisticated and welcoming environment.

What the role involves:

• Welcoming guests and providing attentive, friendly and personalised service from arrival to departure.
• Presenting menus, explaining dishes and recommending food and beverage options including cocktails and wines.
• Taking accurate orders and entering them into the POS system.
• Serving food and drinks promptly and according to the restaurant service standards.
• Maintaining clean, organised and presentable dining areas and table settings.
• Working closely with the kitchen, bar, hostess team and management.
• Handling cash, card payments and bills accurately.
• Following responsible alcohol service procedures and venue policies.

• Previous experience as a waiter or waitress in a restaurant, hotel, bar or similar hospitality environment.
• Experience in an upmarket restaurant or cocktail venue will be highly advantageous.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills and a guest focused attitude.
• Professional appearance and good personal grooming.
• Basic computer literacy and the ability to operate a POS system.
• Good numerical skills and attention to detail when processing orders and payments.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual and well organised.
• Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Advantageous: fine dining, premium restaurant or luxury hospitality experience; knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits and food pairings; familiarity with upselling techniques and menu recommendations.

• Prepare tables before service and maintain clean, organised and presentable dining areas.
• Clear used plates and glassware promptly and reset tables efficiently.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, restocking and general service preparation.
• Work closely with the kitchen, bar, hostess team and management to ensure smooth service.
• Communicate orders, special requests and dietary requirements accurately.
• Assist colleagues during peak periods to maintain service standards.
• Handle cash, card payments and bills accurately and follow cash handling procedures.
