About the role
As an Underground Coal Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel-powered mining equipment in an underground coal environment. You will work with a range of machines including LHDs, tractors, Dyna LDVs, face drills and Mantis roofbolters, ensuring they stay operational and safe.
Key duties include:
- Performing routine inspections, servicing and repairs on underground diesel equipment.
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out necessary fixes to minimise downtime.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and underground mining regulations.
- Keeping accurate maintenance records and reporting on equipment condition.
- Working closely with the mining team to support production targets.

Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Diesel Mechanic Trade Test
- Flameproof Certificate and Gas Testing Certificate
- Minimum 3 years experience as an underground Diesel Mechanic in a coal mining environment
- Experience working on LHDs, Tractors, Dyna LDVs, Face Drills and Mantis Roofbolters
