A great opportunity for a Treasury Accountant with at least 3 years experience to join a finance team in Cape Town CBD. You will manage daily cash flow, reconciliations, and reporting, working closely with banking partners and other finance teams. This full time role offers a competitive salary of R35k to R42k ctc per month and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment and has a strong understanding of cash management and financial systems.
About the role
As a Treasury Accountant, you will be responsible for the day to day cash flow management and financial controls of the business, ensuring smooth and accurate processing across all financial channels. You will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the company and supporting strategic decision making through timely and accurate reporting.
Your main duties will include:
- Daily Cash Flow Management: Implementing and controlling daily cash flow movements, monitoring deposits, withdrawals, and related financial transactions.
- Reconciliation: Performing daily and monthly reconciliations of cash movements, ensuring accuracy between financial records and actual balances across various accounts.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Preparing accurate cash flow reports, analysing trends, and providing detailed forecasts for future cash requirements. Supporting strategic decision making with insights into cash liquidity.
- Transaction Management: Overseeing and controlling all bank accounts, ensuring cash management policies are adhered to, and ensuring optimal liquidity for operational needs such as supplier payments, payroll, and platform settlements.
- Risk and Compliance: Monitoring and managing financial transactions to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Bank Relations: Liaising with banking partners for queries, issue resolution, and optimising banking arrangements.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment of treasury activities with company goals.
- Ad hoc Financial Tasks: Supporting the finance department with any other treasury related tasks as required, including audits and special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in treasury, finance, or accounting, preferably within the financial services or online entertainment industry
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero
- Advanced level Excel skills
- Strong understanding of cash management, financial instruments, and reconciliations
- Knowledge of banking systems, payment platforms, and financial transactions
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
