Merchant West, a player in the transport finance market, needs a commercially minded Portfolio Manager to expand its footprint. Requirements
- BCom degree or diploma in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field
- 4 to 5 years of experience in asset finance, vehicle finance, commercial finance or transport finance
- Proven experience in new business development, prospecting and client acquisition
- Exposure to transport finance, commercial vehicle finance, fleet finance, structured finance, banking, lending or investment environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems will be advantageous
- A commercially minded, ambitious and resilient approach
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building and sales skills
Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, prospecting and proactive client acquisition
- Develop, manage and grow a portfolio of clients within the transport finance sector
- Structure and negotiate tailored finance solutions that align with client requirements and commercial objectives
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and key industry stakeholders
- Research market opportunities, develop a strong prospect pipeline and consistently pursue new revenue streams
- Drive portfolio growth and business performance within a target-driven environment
