About the role
We are looking for experienced, trade tested truck diesel technicians to join established workshop operations in the Middelburg area of Mpumalanga. These roles are for technically capable professionals who understand the standards, discipline and expectations of a structured commercial vehicle workshop.
You will work on trucks including extra heavy vehicles, heavy motor vehicles and medium motor vehicles. The work covers diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs, fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems, and completing job cards accurately. You will also be expected to maintain quality workmanship, follow safety and workshop procedures, and work closely with workshop management and fellow technicians.
The position may include field service, call outs, breakdowns and standby duties depending on operational needs. This is a permanent, immediate opportunity with market related remuneration based on your qualifications, experience and technical capability. Requirements
- Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Technician qualification
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant post trade experience
- Experience in a structured commercial vehicle dealership or equivalent professional workshop environment
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic capability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
- Good communication skills and a professional work ethic
- Experience with established commercial vehicle brands
- Service centre, fleet or dealership workshop experience with formal service and repair procedures
- Field service, call outs, breakdowns, standby and workshop exposure
- Code EC or Code 14 drivers licence
- Additional manufacturer or technical training is advantageous
- Own basic tools where required
- Traceable and contactable references
- Local residency or willingness to relocate
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles including extra heavy, heavy and medium motor vehicles
- Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and technical faults
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently according to required standards
- Maintain quality workmanship and workshop productivity
- Follow job card, safety and workshop procedures
- Maintain accurate technical and service records
- Work effectively with workshop management and fellow technicians
- Assist with additional workshop duties, breakdown support or standby requirements where applicable
