About the role
Join a high volume truck workshop servicing a range of commercial vehicle brands, supporting fleet operators, logistics companies, and owner drivers. As a Trade Tested Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for keeping heavy commercial vehicles on the road through expert diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
Key duties include:
- Performing diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on commercial trucks and heavy vehicles
- Identifying mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment
- Conducting preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on fleet vehicles
- Carrying out engine, drivetrain, braking, suspension, and electrical repairs
- Attending to roadside breakdowns and field service when required
- Maintaining workshop productivity and meeting repair time standards
- Ensuring all work is completed according to dealership and manufacturer specifications
- Maintaining accurate job cards, service records, and technical reports
- Supporting workshop foremen and service advisors in resolving complex mechanical faults
- Maintaining safe working practices and workshop housekeeping standards

Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Technician Certificate (essential)
- Minimum 5 years experience within a commercial truck workshop or dealership environment
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles and trucks
- Exposure to leading truck or workshop brands (advantageous)
- Ability to work independently within a busy workshop environment
- Willing to perform breakdown support, overtime, and standby duties where required
- Own basic tool set required
- Valid Code EC / Code 14 drivers licence (advantageous)
- Traceable and contactable references
- Local residency near branch or willingness to relocate
