Success Guide
If you are a trade tested diesel mechanic who enjoys working on trucks, this role is worth a good look. The employer wants someone who has spent real time on Hano and Isuzu commercial vehicles, so make sure your CV clearly lists the truck makes and models you have worked on, along with the years of experience for each. Getting your Trade Test certificate and a reference letter or two from previous workshop supervisors ready will strengthen your application.
For a mechanic interview, expect practical questions about fault finding, engine repairs and how you handle breakdowns when time is tight. Be prepared to talk through a specific repair or breakdown you managed from start to finish. Show that you are reliable, safety conscious and happy to work overtime when the trucks need to keep moving. Good luck.
