Success Guide

This is a great opportunity if you already have some theatre experience and want to work in a well established private hospital. Your SANC registration and theatre skills are the most important things on your application, so make sure your CV clearly shows the surgical procedures you have supported and the equipment you have worked with. Also highlight any specialty diploma and any training you have given to other staff, because this role includes mentoring and supervision. In your interview, be ready to talk about how you keep patients safe and comfortable during surgery, how you handle stock and equipment, and how you deal with pressure when theatre is busy. If you are an internal employee, remember to chat to your line manager first, as the advert asks. Good luck, this is a solid step up in surgical nursing.
