About the role
As a Technical Business Analyst at Capitec, you will be part of a team building new capabilities to serve entrepreneurs, from small to large businesses. You will work across different products and domains, connecting the dots and making sense of complex information.
What you will do:
- Work closely with business, UX and technical teams, and run workshops to understand needs, current processes and pain points
- Design future state processes and system flows, showing how they connect across teams and platforms
- Write technical requirements and specifications, including integration, API and data requirements
- Turn requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Work with engineers and architects to assess solution options and their impact across systems
- Map data flows and define data needs, including source to target mappings where required
- Work with the Product Owner to refine and prioritise the backlog
- Support testing (SIT and UAT) and make sure what is delivered meets both business and technical requirements

Requirements
- A degree in an IT related field, Industrial Engineering or Business
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis
- 5+ years Business Analysis experience, ideally in a tech environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Natural curiosity and willingness to ask the right questions
- Ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and specifications
- Understanding of APIs, microservices and system integrations
- Strong facilitation skills, and confidence engaging both business and technical stakeholders
- Ability to work across multiple teams and complex solutions
- Clear credit and criminal record
- It would be great if you also have experience within payments, fintech, card acceptance or acquiring, experience with merchants, SMEs or the informal market, Business Analysis certification, experience with AWS or knowledge of technologies such as Postgres, Java or Kafka, exposure to data, databases, SQL or scripting
