About the role
As a Sushi Assistant at Pick n Pay in Centurion, you will be responsible for preparing fresh sushi daily according to the store production plan. You will work closely with the Sushi Chef to make sure the department runs smoothly and that customers always get quality products.
What you will be doing:
- Following the production plan to ensure sales growth and minimise waste each week
- Preparing sushi recipes according to set specifications
- Keeping the work area clean and hygienic at all times
- Assisting with monthly stocktakes and conducting daily waste scanning
- Making sure promotional lines are ready in time with the Sushi Chef
- Following all food safety procedures, maintaining the cold chain, and preventing cross contamination
About you:
You should have experience cutting and filleting fish, a good knowledge of different sushi recipes, and a solid understanding of food safety compliance. You need to be able to communicate in English and must live close to the Centurion store. A positive attitude and taking ownership of your work are important.

- Matric (Grade 12)
- Must reside close to the store in Centurion
- Experience in cutting and filleting fish
- Demonstrated ability in preparing all fish related products
- Broad knowledge of fish

- Ingredient knowledge and understanding of recipe specifications
