You will look after the thermal suite, gardens, pool areas and relaxation spaces at a luxury spa in Constantia, Cape Town. This is a 7 month seasonal role paying R11 000 a month CTC. About the role
As the Spa Facilities Coordinator, you will be the person who makes sure every corner of the spa feels calm, clean and ready for guests. You will take charge of the thermal suite, outdoor gardens, poolside areas and relaxation spaces, making sure they always meet luxury spa standards.
Your day to day will involve walking through the facilities to check that everything is clean, safe and working well. You will work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, spa therapists and reception to sort out any issues quickly. You will also chat with guests in the pool and garden areas, recommending treatments and packages when the moment is right.
This role is all about taking ownership of the physical environment so that guests have a seamless and tranquil experience from start to finish.
This is a seasonal role for 7 months. It is a permanent position within that period.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (matric) is required
- A Somatology qualification, ITEC, SAAHA or CIDESCO qualification is needed
- 2 to 3 years experience as a Beauty Therapist
- Strong eye for detail and pride in keeping spaces clean and functional
- Proactive approach to spotting and solving problems
- Practical, hands on attitude towards facilities management
- Good organisational and coordination skills
- Excellent guest service and people skills
- Calm and professional manner
- Strong understanding of health, safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation and presentation of the thermal suite, making sure all spaces are serene, clean and safe
- Maintain outdoor gardens, relaxation areas, poolside areas and hydro facilities to a high standard
- Conduct regular checks on loungers, pools, pathways and relaxation areas
- Ensure all facilities are guest ready at all times
- Guide guests through their spa experience, helping them get familiar with the facilities
- Chat with guests in poolside, garden and relaxation areas to recommend treatments, packages and retail products
- Work with therapists and reception to help with bookings from guest enquiries
- Keep treatment menus and promotional materials displayed and up to date
- Do daily walkthroughs to identify maintenance, safety or cleanliness issues
- Liaise with maintenance, housekeeping and other departments to fix problems quickly
- Monitor facility usage and manage access to prevent overcrowding
- Report concerns or operational issues to management and follow up until resolved
- Use resources responsibly, keeping energy and water consumption in mind
