About the role
As a Solutions Engineer at Recru-IT, you will be based in Durban and work closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders. Your main focus will be delivering small projects end to end across the company's integrations and internal tools. What you will be doing:
- Gather requirements, map processes, and define acceptance criteria for small projects
- Design simple, maintainable solutions and document data flows and business rules
- Build and maintain integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and file-based interfaces

- Query Snowflake and operational databases where needed
- Implement secure authentication patterns including OAuth 2.0 and key-pair authentication
- Plan and carry out testing, support UAT, and release changes to production
- Provide support for delivered solutions and work with vendors on root causes
The role sits in the Product team, so you will have the chance to work on a variety of integration projects and internal tools that directly support the business. Larger initiatives will be scoped by you and then handed to the Engineering team.

- Exposure to Snowflake would be advantageous
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria
- Experience with test practices such as Postman and automated tests

Success Guide
If you are applying for this Solutions Engineer role at Recru-IT, remember that they are looking for someone who can handle integrations and internal tools from start to finish. Your CV should highlight your experience with Python, TypeScript, REST APIs, and any work you have done with POS or payment systems. Even if you have not used Micros Simphony specifically, mention any similar platforms you have worked with.
During an interview, be ready to talk about a project where you gathered requirements, built a solution, tested it, and released it. They will likely ask how you approach problems and work with stakeholders. Show that you can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical people.
Also, since they mention AI coding tools, it is a good idea to mention how you use tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor responsibly in your workflow. Good luck!
