Overview
A Durban based QA role for a detail focused tester with 5 to 10 years of experience. You will own testing strategy, test execution, defect management and release readiness across web, mobile, POS and Power Platform projects. This is a full time, permanent position with a recruiter placing you into a technology driven environment.
About the role
This is a hands on Software Quality Assurance Analyst role for someone who wants to be the quality voice on technology projects. You will join a team delivering web and mobile applications, integrated systems, Microsoft Power Platform solutions and transactional platforms.
What you will be doing:
- Reviewing business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria to confirm they are clear and testable
- Building test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases and reusable regression packs
- Running manual functional, integration, system, end to end, smoke, sanity and compatibility testing
- Testing integrations between internal systems, APIs, POS platforms, payment services and databases
- Logging and tracking defects through the full lifecycle and supporting defect triage sessions
- Supporting business users during User Acceptance Testing and giving evidence based release readiness feedback
- Working closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, vendors and business stakeholders

Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline
- ISTQB Foundation certification
- 5 to 10 years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test analysis or a comparable role
- Experience preparing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts and regression packs
- Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, enterprise systems or transactional platforms
- Experience with functional, system, integration, end to end and regression testing
- Experience managing defects through the complete defect lifecycle
- Experience working directly with developers, business analysts, project managers, business users and external vendors
- Experience in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid development environments
- Experience producing clear testing reports and presenting quality risks to stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test schedules and quality assurance approaches for technology projects
- Review business requirements, functional specifications and acceptance criteria for completeness and testability
- Design test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, checklists and test data requirements
- Execute manual functional, system, integration, end to end, regression, smoke, sanity, usability and compatibility testing
- Test integrations between internal systems, vendor platforms, APIs, POS systems, payment services and reporting tools
- Log, classify, track and retest defects through the full defect lifecycle
- Facilitate defect triage sessions with developers, business analysts, project managers and vendors
- Develop and maintain regression packs for business critical applications and recurring release cycles
- Support business users during User Acceptance Testing and track UAT progress and sign off
- Provide project teams with clear visibility of test coverage, open defects and release readiness
