About the role
Rensearch Placements is looking for a high caliber SHEQ Coordinator to join their client in Brackenfell, Cape Town. This permanent, full time role is perfect for someone who enjoys being hands on across multiple sites and wants to make a real difference in workplace safety, quality and environmental standards.
You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an integrated SHEQ management system, making sure ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and RTMS requirements are embedded in all depot operations. You will work closely with internal teams and external clients to align systems with their protocols and requirements.
Your day to day will include conducting scheduled and ad hoc inspections, compiling safety and risk assessment reports, leading incident investigations, tracking audit findings and delivering SHERQ training and toolbox talks. You will also manage document control, legal registers, medical surveillance programmes and IOD processes, and prepare monthly and quarterly SHERQ reports for management review.
This role is only open to applicants who reside in Cape Town and you must have a valid drivers license and your own vehicle as you will travel between sites.

- Grade 12 (matric) is required
- Diploma or Degree in Safety, Environmental and Quality Management is essential
- SAMTRAC or equivalent certification is advantageous
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification is essential
- RTMS knowledge is advantageous
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a SHERQ role
- Experience with ISO and RTMS implementation
- Experience conducting internal audits across multiple sites
- Strong background in incident investigation and SHERQ training
- In depth knowledge of OHS Act, NEMA, COID and NRTA
- Proficiency in MS Office and SHERQ systems
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle
- Must reside in Cape Town
Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain and enforce Unitrans, ISO and RTMS requirements across sites
- Maintain SHERQ procedures, templates, document control and electronic systems
- Review and update SHERQ policies, procedures, legal registers and system documentation
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits and accreditations
- Track, log and close out audit findings and corrective actions
- Perform daily site inspections and monitor operational safety compliance
- Lead incident and accident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Capture and analyse near miss reports and trends
- Ensure machinery, vehicles and equipment meet legal safety standards
- Implement and test depot emergency plans with training and drills
- Deliver induction training, safe working procedures and SHEQ awareness sessions
- Maintain SHERQ registers, statistics and prepare reports for management review
- Manage IOD processes and the employee medical surveillance programme
