About the role
Salix Recruitment is looking for a driven and commercially minded Senior Recruitment Consultant to join their growing team in Centurion. This is a full 360° recruitment role where you take genuine ownership of your desk, from winning new clients to closing placements.
You will work in a hybrid model, splitting your time between the Centurion office and remote work, with travel to clients across Gauteng. The role sits within the recruitment industry, specialising in finance and IT placements, giving you exposure to a wide range of companies and decision makers.
Your day to day will involve business development through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, referrals and networking. You will research opportunities, build and manage client relationships, take detailed job briefs and source exceptional talent using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, databases and direct approaches. You will manage the full recruitment process, including interviews, feedback, offers, counteroffers and compliance, while negotiating and closing placements that protect the commercial interests of Salix Recruitment.

Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) is required
- A university degree is advantageous
- 2 to 4 years experience in recruitment, sales, business development or another target driven B2B environment
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Experience in cold calling, client acquisition and consultative selling
- Strong recruitment and candidate sourcing experience
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Confidence negotiating commercial terms and fees
- Strong follow through, organisation and attention to detail
- Resilience to deal with rejection, difficult conversations and setbacks
- A solutions focused approach and ability to work independently
- A valid drivers licence and own vehicle, with the ability to travel to clients across Gauteng
Responsibilities
- Win new business through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, referrals and networking
- Research and identify opportunities by targeting companies, decision makers and hiring trends
- Build and manage client relationships from initial engagement through to successful placement
- Take and qualify detailed job briefs, understanding technical requirements, culture, salary and expectations
- Develop and maintain a strong business pipeline and identify new recruitment opportunities
- Source and attract top talent through LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, databases, referrals and direct approaches
- Build active and passive talent pipelines and maintain strong candidate relationships
- Interview and assess candidates for technical, cultural and commercial fit
- Manage the recruitment process end to end, including interviews, feedback, offers, counteroffers, notice periods and compliance
- Negotiate and close placements, managing fees, terms and objections while protecting the commercial interests of Salix Recruitment
