About the role
Pro Personnel is looking for a highly experienced Project Construction Manager to lead site construction activities on a significant mining project in Marikana, North West. This is a fixed term contract expected to run for 12 to 18 months, with a start date between immediate and one month. The role is entirely site based.
You will be responsible for managing and overseeing all construction work on site, ensuring that the project progresses safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with the project team, contractors and stakeholders, making sure that site operations run smoothly and that any issues are resolved quickly. Your day to day will involve coordinating multiple teams, monitoring progress, and reporting on construction activities to senior management.
The ideal candidate comes from a strong EPCM and mining background, with a proven track record of leading large construction teams. You must be comfortable being hands on and actively present on site, and you should have excellent communication skills to manage relationships with clients, contractors and your own team.
Requirements
- Engineering qualification
- 20+ years of relevant industry experience
- Preferably experience with similar EPCM companies
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Must be in good health and able to work actively on site
- Construction Project Management qualification (preferred)
- Previous experience at Valterra Platinum and/or Sibanye Stillwater Concentrator and/or Smelter projects (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all site construction activities for the project
- Oversee construction teams and contractors on site
- Ensure construction work is completed safely and to quality standards
- Monitor project progress and report on construction milestones
