About the role
This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Senior Pharmacist to take charge of a community pharmacy in the Amajuba District. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the pharmacy, ensuring all SAPC requirements are met and providing high quality pharmaceutical care and customer service.
Key duties include:
- Accurately interpret and dispense prescriptions according to SAPC guidelines
- Provide patient counselling, advice and follow up care with empathy and professionalism
- Manage stock ordering, receiving and control of scheduled medicines and other pharmaceutical products
- Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records
- Monitor expiry dates, temperature monitoring and cold chain compliance
- Ensure compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) and relevant legislation
- Maintain QCPs and internal quality records
- Use the Unisolv system for dispensing, claims and stock management
- Apply ICD 10 codes correctly for medical aid and patient billing
- Support the Responsible Pharmacist when needed, including relief work during leave or peak periods
- Supervise support staff according to SAPC guidelines and promote teamwork

Requirements
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm or equivalent) is compulsory
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and in good standing
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience at Senior Pharmacist level
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a retail pharmacy environment (hospital experience does not count)
- Good knowledge of dispensing systems such as Unisolv or similar
- Good knowledge of ICD 10 coding and claims processes
- Valid driver's license and own transport will be advantageous
- Local residency or willingness to relocate is required
- Reliable, disciplined and professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Calm under pressure with excellent problem solving ability
- Compassionate with a passion for patient care and community service
- Sober habits and a professional appearance are essential
Responsibilities
