About the role
This is a strategic and operational leadership position responsible for logistics and distribution within a high volume FMCG cold chain environment. Based in Northern KwaZulu Natal, you will ensure efficient, cost effective and time critical delivery of perishable goods across distribution networks.
Key focus areas include:
- Full responsibility for logistics strategy and execution
- Overseeing distribution, transport planning, routing and fleet coordination
- Managing cold chain compliance and temperature controlled logistics
- Optimising delivery schedules and route planning for cost efficiency
- Leading and managing logistics, dispatch and transport teams
- Monitoring KPIs such as delivery turnaround times, fuel usage and vehicle utilisation
- Implementing systems and controls to reduce losses and inefficiencies
- Coordinating closely with production, warehouse and sales teams
- Managing third party transporters and service providers
- Budget management and cost control across logistics operations
- Ensuring compliance with safety, legal and transport regulations
- Continuous improvement of logistics systems and processes

Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain or Transport Management
- 8 to 10 plus years experience in FMCG logistics, with cold chain experience highly advantageous
- Proven experience at management or executive level
- Strong fleet and distribution management experience
- Experience with logistics systems, ERP and route planning tools
- Strong leadership and people management capability
- High level analytical and operational planning skills
- Financial and cost management experience
- Ability to work in high pressure, time sensitive environments
- Stable employment history required
- Traceable and contactable references
- Local residency or willingness to relocate required
