About the role
This role is for a Senior Java Developer who will take ownership of enterprise Java applications and integrations in a telecommunications and value added services setting. You will work on the systems that move messages and data reliably between platforms, and you will make sure changes do not break services downstream.
Day to day you will design and enhance Java based enterprise applications, work with J2EE and Spring, and build and maintain integrations using Apache Camel. You will also develop and support messaging integrations with RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ, write and optimise SQL queries, and work in Linux environments while troubleshooting production issues. You will take part in testing, code reviews, and deployments, and collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to keep applications stable, scalable, and maintainable. Documentation of changes, configuration and handover notes is part of the work so others can support what you build.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Java development, including J2EE and Spring
- Experience building and maintaining enterprise integrations with Apache Camel
- Hands on experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and/or ActiveMQ
- Ability to write and optimise SQL queries for performance and reliability
- Comfortable working in Linux environments and troubleshooting production issues
- Experience participating in testing, code reviews and deployments
- Ability to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders
- Strong documentation skills for changes, configuration and handover notes
