Capitec is looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to join their insurance team in Stellenbosch. You will lead end to end system design, work across both front end and back end, and help build a digital insurance platform that serves millions of South Africans. About the role
Capitec Insurance is making a significant move into South Africa's insurance market. With 23 million banking clients and a three year growth plan, they need technology built to scale. As a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer, you will own the full stack, from the app interface that clients tap on to the back end systems processing claims in real time.
You will lead end to end initiatives, design complete solutions, and provide technical leadership across the entire application stack. This is a chance to work on a fully digital insurance application that takes less than 10 minutes and requires no medical tests. Every line of code you write helps keep that promise to South Africans.

Requirements
- 6 or more years of proven fullstack software development experience, delivering end to end solutions in production
- Strong back end capability in C# and .NET Core
- Solid front end experience with React or Vue and TypeScript
- Experience designing scalable systems in AWS environments
- A track record of leading technical decisions across the full stack, not just executing them
- Experience working in regulated or financial services environments is a strong advantage
- The ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to engineers, architects and business stakeholders
- A genuine interest in growing the engineers around you
- Minimum: Grade 12 National Certificate
- Preferred: A relevant tertiary qualification in information technology
- Expert level knowledge in IT systems development processes and agile delivery, advanced programming concepts, algorithms and data structures, front end architecture, database systems, RESTful API design, cloud computing, microservice and event driven architectures, Kubernetes, and testing practices
