Success Guide

Applying for a senior finance role at a major bank like Standard Bank means your application needs to show more than just qualifications. Make sure your CV clearly highlights your CA(SA) status, the number of years you have worked after articles, and specific examples of financial management work you have led. Since this role is contract and based in Johannesburg, be ready to discuss your availability and whether you can work on site.

In interviews for banking finance positions, expect questions about budgeting, cost control, and how you have used financial data to influence business decisions. They may also ask about your experience with automated reporting systems and how you manage stakeholder relationships. Have a few concrete stories ready that show your leadership style and your ability to see the bigger picture while still being hands on.
