A growing international engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work fully remotely from anywhere in South Africa. You will lead electrical design on large scale data centre and mission critical projects, collaborating with a global team. About the role
This role is with a growing international engineering consultancy, and you will work remotely from South Africa on large scale international data centre projects. You will join an established international engineering team and focus on the mission critical sector.
What you will be doing:
- Leading and delivering electrical design projects within the data centre and mission critical sectors
- Developing electrical designs from concept through detailed design and construction stages
- Carrying out electrical calculations, load assessments and technical design specifications
- Designing and coordinating LV distribution systems, power infrastructure and associated electrical services
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure coordinated project delivery
- Reviewing technical documentation, drawings and specifications for compliance with relevant standards
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers
- Liaising with clients, contractors and project stakeholders throughout the design process

Requirements
- BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience within an MEP or building services consultancy environment
- Proven experience in electrical building services design
- Experience on data centre or other mission critical projects is highly advantageous
- Strong technical knowledge of LV distribution, power systems and electrical infrastructure
- Proficiency in relevant electrical design software and industry standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international engineering team
- Excellent technical, communication and coordination skills
- Must have your own equipment for remote work
