Attention South African design engineers with 8 or more years of experience. This is your chance to relocate to Belgium with full support, including visa, housing and school assistance. You will take charge of (electro)mechanical and electronic products from concept through to first production run at a leading Belgian manufacturer. Fluency in Afrikaans and good English is essential, and you will get to learn Dutch along the way.
About the role
Our client, a leading Belgian manufacturer of (electro)mechanical hardware, is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to own products from concept to first production run. This is a permanent, full time role based in Belgium, and 3 Hands Europe will guide you through the entire relocation process.
What you will be doing:
- Designing and improving (electro)mechanical and electronic products
- Brainstorming concepts, creating CAD designs, prototyping and following up on tests
- Working with manufacturers and production teams on DFM and DFA
- Driving the full technical execution from A to Z alongside the product manager
- Coaching fellow designers and sharing your expertise
- Reporting to the R&D Manager

Requirements
- Industrial engineer degree or equivalent through experience
- Minimum 8 years of business experience, with several years in product design
- Experience with 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks
- Strong project management skills with a focus on staying on target and on budget
- Team player with a can do attitude
- Fluent Afrikaans and good English
- Willingness to learn Dutch
Responsibilities
