What the day to day looks like:- Lead the design, development, and improvement of data platforms, pipelines, and models
- Turn business needs into data solutions that work at scale
- Guide and mentor data engineers and analysts, helping them grow in their craft
- Push forward better data architecture, integration methods, and platform performance
- Put data quality, monitoring, and governance frameworks in place and keep them running
- Make sure data privacy and regulatory rules are followed
- Work closely with product, business, and engineering teams to deliver data products that make a difference
- Build a team culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement

- A relevant degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- 10 or more years of experience in data related roles
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in data management, data engineering, or data architecture
- Proven track record designing and implementing modern data platforms and architectures
- Experience with data governance, compliance, and data quality frameworks
- Exposure to commercial or data product environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory skills across technical and business teams
- Solid knowledge of data architecture, data engineering, and integration patterns
- Experience with ETL, ELT processes, APIs, and data platform design
- Advanced SQL skills and experience building and optimising data pipelines
- Understanding of cloud and on premise data environments
- Awareness of emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics
- Experience in automotive, financial services, or consumer data settings is a plus
- Exposure to AI and machine learning initiatives is advantageous
