A hands-on senior role in Johannesburg for a technically strong support engineer who enjoys solving complex enterprise client issues across desktop, server, application, and network environments. You will work with C# code, Vue.js and Electron diagnostics, Windows and Linux systems, and corporate networking challenges. This is a permanent full time position suited to someone with at least 5 years of technical support or platform engineering experience who can communicate clearly with enterprise IT teams.
About the role
Our client is looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer to take ownership of enterprise client deployments across desktop, server, application, and network environments. This is a hands-on position where you will move between reading C# code, diagnosing Vue.js and Electron issues, working in Windows and Linux command line environments, and solving complex corporate networking problems.
You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting .NET applications in enterprise settings, conducting remote technical sessions with enterprise IT teams, and producing clear technical documentation. The role requires someone who is comfortable troubleshooting firewalls, proxies, certificates, PKI, TLS, allowlisting, and general network connectivity issues while also being able to make small safe fixes to Angular applications when needed.

Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience in technical support, solutions engineering, platform engineering, or a related technical role
- Strong hands-on C# experience with the ability to read and interpret application code, stack traces, and logs
- Hands-on Vue.js and Electron diagnostic experience, including browser DevTools, component and state troubleshooting, IPC, packaging, and updates
- Working knowledge of Angular sufficient to make small, safe application fixes
- Experience working from the command line in both Windows and Linux environments
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting .NET applications in enterprise environments
- Strong troubleshooting experience across firewalls, proxies, certificates, PKI, TLS, allowlisting, and network connectivity
- Proficiency with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
- Experience conducting remote technical sessions and installations with enterprise IT teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation
