About the role
Ntice Sourcing Solutions is looking for an FI/CO Lead to represent the Finance function on a SAP S/4HANA Project Owner's Team. You will be the primary Finance business lead throughout the implementation lifecycle, making sure finance processes, controls, reporting and statutory obligations are properly supported by the SAP S/4HANA solution.
You will work closely with Group Process Owners and the implementation partner to align local business needs with the global template and target operating model. This means driving fit to standard principles, minimising customisation and making sure any deviations are properly justified and approved.
Key areas you will focus on:
- Leading the Finance and Controlling workstream on behalf of the business
- Partnering with Group Finance and Solution Architects to adopt the approved Global Design Solution
- Overseeing process design for GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost Centres, Profit Centres, Internal Orders, Product Costing, Material Ledger, Project Systems, COPA, Budgeting, Treasury and Group Reporting
- Guiding data migration, master data governance and opening balance validation
- Leading finance testing cycles including SIT, UAT, regression and cutover testing
- Supporting change management, training and user adoption across the finance community
- Providing finance leadership during go live, hypercare and stabilisation phases
This is a fixed term contract based in Rosebank, Johannesburg. You will be part of a large complex project with exposure to global process owners and a multinational template environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
- SAP S/4HANA certification or demonstrated implementation experience
- Project management exposure
- Experience working within a global ERP template environment
- 10+ years of experience in Finance, Management Accounting, Financial Reporting or Controlling
- Experience in large complex organisations
- Previous involvement in SAP ECC and or SAP S/4HANA projects
- Experience in mining, manufacturing or asset intensive industries will be advantageous
- Demonstrated experience managing business process transformation initiatives
- Experience working with Group functions, global process owners or global template deployments is highly desirable
- Strong technical competencies in financial accounting and reporting, management accounting and costing, budgeting and forecasting, financial controls and governance, SAP FI/CO processes, data migration and reconciliation, and process design and optimisation
Responsibilities
- Lead the Finance and Controlling workstream on behalf of the business and act as the main liaison between Finance stakeholders, the SAP implementation partner and Group Process Owners
- Drive the adoption of SAP best practices and standardised business processes across the finance function
- Support project governance, planning, risk management and decision making activities
- Partner with Group Finance, Global Process Owners and Solution Architects to adopt the approved Global Design Solution
- Evaluate local business requirements against the global SAP template and drive fit to standard principles
- Identify gaps between current processes and the global design and facilitate resolution with Group stakeholders
- Lead and support the design, validation and optimisation of finance processes including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost Centre Accounting, Profit Centre Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, Material Ledger, Project Systems, COPA, Budgeting and Forecasting, Treasury and Cash Management, and Group and Statutory Reporting
- Participate in design workshops and solution review sessions and approve finance related configuration and functional specifications
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, audit requirements and tax regulations
- Define Finance master data requirements and governance standards and support data cleansing, validation and migration activities
- Lead Finance participation in System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing and Cutover Testing
- Coordinate Finance key users during testing cycles and manage defect resolution and business sign offs
- Champion the SAP S/4HANA transformation within the Finance community and support training design and delivery
- Support cutover planning and execution and validate opening balances and critical financial controls
- Provide Finance leadership during hypercare and stabilisation phases and ensure post go live issues are resolved effectively
- Build effective relationships with Finance Leadership, Financial Controllers, Cost and Management Accountants, Shared Services Teams, Internal and External Auditors, Group Finance Teams, Global Process Owners, the SAP Implementation Partner, PMO and Project Leadership, and Business Workstream Leads
