About the role
As a Sales Associate at Volpes in Somerset Value Mart, you will be the face of the store, helping customers find the right textile and homeware products while keeping the shopping experience positive and welcoming.
Your day to day will include assisting customers on the floor, processing sales at the till, keeping shelves stocked and neat, and working with your team to meet store goals. This is a hands on retail role where you will learn about Volpes products and build solid customer service skills.
Important: This is a full time position requiring 120 hours. The role is based at Somerset Value Mart.
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification
- Previous retail or customer service experience will be an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
- Good numeracy skills for handling cash and card transactions
- Must be reliable and well presented
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with stock
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with product queries and selections
- Process sales transactions accurately at the point of sale
- Keep the sales floor tidy, organised and well merchandised
- Assist with receiving and packing stock
- Maintain product knowledge to advise customers
