Overview

Join TFG's Exact brand as a Sales Associate at Blue Route Mall in Cape Town. This is a full time retail role perfect for young South Africans who enjoy fashion, working with people, and being part of a supportive store team. You will help customers find great looks, keep the store looking sharp, and grow your retail skills with one of SA's biggest fashion retailers.

About the role

As a Sales Associate at Exact in Blue Route Mall, you will be the friendly face customers meet when they walk into the store. Your main focus is helping shoppers find clothing and accessories they love while keeping the store welcoming and well presented.

Day to day you can expect to:

  • Greet customers and assist them with finding sizes, styles and outfit ideas
  • Operate the till, handle cash and card payments, and process exchanges or refunds
  • Keep rails, shelves and displays neat, sized and stocked throughout the day
  • Help with stock deliveries, unpacking, tagging and packing items onto the floor
  • Work towards individual and store sales targets
  • Support the store team during busy trading times, promotions and sale events

This is a 120 hour role, which means you will work a set number of hours per month as part of the store team. It suits someone who is reliable, energetic and comfortable on their feet for most of the shift.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent would be an advantage
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not essential for the right candidate
  • Friendly, confident communication with customers
  • Willingness to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
  • Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and till transactions
  • Ability to stand for long periods and help with moving stock
  • A genuine interest in fashion and helping people look and feel good

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers on the shop floor with product queries, sizing and styling advice
  • Process sales, refunds and exchanges on the point of sale system
  • Maintain neat, sized and well merchandised rails and displays
  • Receive and unpack stock deliveries and prepare items for the floor
  • Monitor stock levels and report low or missing items to the store manager
  • Support loss prevention by keeping an eye on the floor and fitting rooms
  • Help achieve store sales targets through upselling and great service
  • Keep the store clean, tidy and shopping friendly at all times

Success Guide

Hi there! This Exact role at Blue Route Mall is a great foot in the door if you are starting out in retail or want to grow with TFG. When you apply, make sure your CV shows any customer facing experience you have, even if it was at a weekend market or volunteering. Managers look for people who are friendly, punctual and willing to learn.

In the interview, be ready to chat about how you would help a customer who cannot find their size, and show that you understand what great service feels like. Dress neatly and smartly, as you would on the shop floor. If you live close to Blue Route Mall, mention that too because reliability matters for shift work. Good luck, you have got this!
