Dis-Chem is hiring a Retail Store Assistant for their Zevenwacht Mall store in Kuils River, Cape Town. About the role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Retail Store Assistant to join their Zevenwacht Mall store in Kuils River. In this role you will support the store's daily operations, making sure customers get great service and that admin tasks are handled according to company policy.
What you will be doing:
- Assisting customers with enquiries and referring them to the right departments
- Managing customer compliments and complaints and reporting them to management
- Handling point of sale shorts and overs, floats, refunds and returns
- Checking deliveries and invoices for accuracy
- Helping the Receiving Manager with Distribution Centre claims
- Managing high risk stock and preparing daily run reconciliations
- Ordering and receiving branch change for cashiers
- Maintaining document control for floats, petty cash and cash on hand

Requirements
- Grade 12 or Matric
- Basic computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
- SAP experience is essential
- Retail experience
- Retail administration and operational knowledge
- Team player with good customer relations

- Deadline driven
- South African citizen with clear criminal and credit record
- MIE clearance
- Driver's licence and/or own reliable transport
Responsibilities
- Handle customer enquiries and direct customers to the appropriate departments
- Manage and report customer compliments and complaints to management
- Build professional relationships with customers and resolve stock queries
- Manage point of sale shorts and overs including floats
- Process refunds and return transactions
- Handle back shopping and returned goods correctly
- Verify deliveries and invoices for total accuracy
- Assist the Receiving Manager with Distribution Centre claims logging
- Manage and control high risk stock
- Prepare daily run reconciliations
- Order and receive branch change so cashiers always have change available
- Maintain document control for floats, petty cash and cash on hand
