About the role

What you will learn:
- Merchandising: keep shelves stocked, neatly presented and correctly priced, and make sure products are within their sell by dates.
- Customer transactions: process payments, handle exchanges and returns, manage loyalty cards and ensure accurate cash handling.
- Stock control: rotate stock, report low or damaged stock, assist with stock counts and help with loading and offloading.
- Customer service: build friendly relationships with customers, assist with queries and report compliments or complaints to management.
- Stock loss prevention: scan and verify outgoing stock, keep takings secure and report suspicious behaviour.
- General store duties: maintain housekeeping standards, follow company policies and adhere to health and safety rules.

Requirements

Responsibilities
- Ensure full ranges of products are on the shelves, neatly presented and within sell by dates.
- Restock merchandise when needed to ensure maximum sales.
- Follow up on out of stock customer queries in a timeous manner.
- Store and pack delivered stock or stock from the storeroom in the correct space.
- Check that merchandise displays, labels and pricing are correct and report price discrepancies.
- Keep the storeroom organised, neat and tidy.
- Process all purchases including cash, cards, vouchers and coupons.
- Exchange merchandise and accept returned goods when authorised.
- Process loyalty cards and ensure cash is placed in the drop safe.
- Assist with stock rotation, stock counts and reporting low, damaged or expired stock.
- Provide friendly and courteous assistance and advice to customers.
- Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
- Ensure outgoing stock is scanned and paid for to prevent stock loss.
- Follow housekeeping, health and safety and uniform policies.
