Smart Workforce Solutions is hiring a remote Recruitment Consultant to source and place artisans, tradespeople and blue collar staff for Australian construction and manufacturing clients. You will run high volume recruitment, screen candidates fast and keep compliance tight, all from your own home office. This is a full time independent contractor role with a fixed monthly fee plus performance commission, ideal for a resilient recruiter who thrives on deadlines and autonomy.
About the role
Smart Workforce Solutions connects South African talent with international businesses. As a remote Recruitment Consultant for Artisans, you will support an Australian staffing operation focused on construction, manufacturing and project staffing. Your day to day work is fast paced and delivery driven, with strict 24 to 48 hour submission targets.
What you will be doing:
- Search Bullhorn, job boards and social channels to source tradespeople, plant operators, civil workers and project management candidates.
- Screen candidates in short 15 minute calls, checking tickets, experience, pay expectations and availability.
- Manage candidate pipelines firmly so paperwork, site attendance and shift reliability stay on track.
- Verify safety tickets, White Cards, licences, inductions and medicals before candidates start on site.
- Keep your Bullhorn notes and data clean and up to date for quick re engagement later.
- Work closely with Australian Account Managers to present job ready shortlists and build client trust.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 or more years of experience in high volume blue collar, trades, civil, construction or labour hire recruitment or resourcing.
- Proficiency with Bullhorn CRM or ATS, Microsoft 365, job boards and AI driven sourcing or automation tools.
- Strong understanding of blue collar trade ticketing and site safety compliance such as White Cards, plant or operator licences and site inductions.
- Experience in Australian recruitment or knowledge of the Australian market is highly advantageous.
- Ability to deliver 3 qualified candidate profiles per role within 24 to 48 hour turnaround deadlines.
- Highly resilient, assertive and self managed with a high urgency mindset.
- Reliable personal laptop or desktop, high speed stable internet with a backup plan, and a quiet dedicated home office.
- High self discipline and excellent time management for autonomous remote work.
Responsibilities
- Source high volumes of trades, plant operators and project management talent through Bullhorn, job boards and social media.
- Conduct targeted 15 minute screening calls to assess ticket compliance, experience, pay expectations and immediate availability.
- Take firm control of candidate relationships and enforce accountability for paperwork, site attendance and shift reliability.
- Collect, verify and track site safety tickets, White Cards, licences, inductions and medicals to keep non compliant starts at zero.
- Brief and prepare candidates on client expectations, site conditions, pay rates and interview performance.
- Maintain complete real time candidate notes and tracking in Bullhorn.
- Collaborate with onshore Australian Account Managers to present job ready shortlists and manage direct client communication as trust builds.
