Remote Event and Campaign Operations Producer for Campus Activations

CampusLaunch · South Africa (Remote) · Remote

Freelance R25k to R35k
Best to apply before today (8 Nov 2026)

Overview

CampusLaunch is hiring a Remote Event and Campaign Operations Producer to plan filmed campus activations across the United States. This full time independent contractor role lets you work from anywhere in South Africa while owning budgets, vendors and event logistics from start to finish. You will earn R25,000 to R35,000 per month and only need to overlap with New York from 3pm to 7pm SA time. It is a great fit for a self starter who has already run at least five events end to end.

About the role

CampusLaunch produces sorority and campus activations in the United States for brands like Nike, BODYARMOR and Benefit. Every event is designed to be filmed and posted by attending students, so the details have to look great on camera. This role owns the planning and coordination side of those events from South Africa while local freelancers handle production on the ground.

You will report directly to the founder, choose vendors, set timelines, hold the budget and keep the team informed without waiting to be assigned every next step. The work is fast, practical and focused on making sure nothing falls through the cracks before, during and after each activation.

Important application notes: This is an independent contractor role with a full time workload of 40 hours per week. You must have fibre internet and backup power because the required weekday overlap with New York is 9am to 1pm New York time, which is 3pm to 7pm South Africa time during US daylight saving and 4pm to 8pm during US standard time. Payment is made monthly in USD. You will frequently follow up with US suppliers by phone during the New York overlap window.

Requirements

  • You have personally owned at least five events, activations or productions end to end and were accountable when something ran late.
  • Evidence of event, experiential, agency, production or campaign operations ownership, rather than only supporting someone else's checklist.
  • Strong written English and clear communication with United States teams.
  • Confidence with budgets, spreadsheets, project management tools, vendor coordination and process improvement.
  • Good judgment when a brief is incomplete or a vendor misses a deadline.
  • Experience with systems or automation, backed by examples of work you improved.
  • Fibre internet and backup power, such as an inverter or UPS, that cover the required overlap hours.
  • Willingness to work freelance on a full time independent contractor basis.

Responsibilities

  • Plan filmed events and activations, including campus and venue requirements, permits, forms, insurance certificates, access and setup windows, timelines, checklists, logistics and delivery plans.
  • Source vendors, fabricators and local production freelancers, compare quotes, confirm scope and follow through on deadlines.
  • Follow up with vendors and fabricators by phone, including US suppliers during the New York overlap window.
  • Keep event budgets clear, covering total costs, who pays for each item, approvals, invoices and payment status.
  • Coordinate ordering, shipping and materials, plus the needs of on site videographers and content creating students, including shot lists, props, product counts and timing.
  • Build practical systems for event planning, vendor information, campaign trackers and recurring processes, using automation where it makes the work more reliable.
  • Keep client and internal teams updated, flag risks early and bring workable alternatives.
  • Suggest ways to make an activation easier to produce and better on camera, working with the team that owns the creative direction.

Benefits

Full time remote work from South Africa, flexible working hours outside the New York overlap window, 40 hours per week independent contractor role, US event evenings are not working hours, monthly payment in USD

Success Guide

Hi there. This is a rare chance to work remotely for a US campus events company while staying right here in South Africa. CampusLaunch wants someone who has actually run events from start to finish, so when you apply, do not just say you are organised. Give one real example of an event you owned, what went wrong and how you fixed it. They care about judgement under pressure more than fancy titles.

Make sure your CV shows numbers. How many vendors did you manage? What budgets did you control? Did you build any trackers or systems that saved time? That kind of proof matters here. Also be ready to talk about your internet setup and backup power, because the New York overlap window is non negotiable. If you have coordinated suppliers in different time zones before, say so proudly. This role rewards people who spot problems early and solve them without being told.
