ISTA Personnel Solutions is hiring a remote Construction Project Coordinator to manage residential refurbishment and light commercial projects for a US based client. You will coordinate multiple projects from your desk, work closely with subcontractors and suppliers, and keep everything on schedule and budget. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of construction coordination experience who wants to work from home and grow within an international BPO team.
About the role
ISTA Personnel Solutions is a dynamic BPO company that partners with international clients, integrating staff directly into their operations. We are recruiting a Construction Project Coordinator to join a growing US based construction company. You will oversee residential refurbishment projects, including apartment complexes and multifamily properties, as well as light commercial projects across the United States.
This is a fully remote role for a calm, organised and proactive person who enjoys taking ownership. The client's Superintendents are the eyes and hands in the field. You are the person who makes sure they know what to check, follows up on their findings, and keeps every open item moving until it is closed. You will run multiple projects at once, working closely with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to keep work on schedule and on budget.
Important application notes: Applicants must have a fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps upload and download, and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection. A reliable power backup solution is also required to manage load shedding. Applicants without these cannot be considered. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 15:30 to 00:30 SAST, subject to US daylight saving changes. You will be required to work on both South African and US public holidays, with compensation for SA public holidays in accordance with the BCEA.
Requirements
- At least 2 years' experience coordinating or administering construction, renovation or contracting projects
- Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers or vendors
- Experience with project costs such as budgets, quotes, purchase orders or change orders
- Ability to juggle many projects and deadlines at once and stay calm under pressure
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Comfort with project management software
- A habit of following through and closing loops without being chased
- Fixed fibre line with minimum 25 Mbps upload and download, and ability to support a wired Ethernet connection (mandatory)
- Reliable power backup solution to manage load shedding and power outages (mandatory)
- Must be based in South Africa
Beneficial experience: Residential or multifamily renovation experience, ClickUp, Procore, Buildertrend or CompanyCam experience, procurement experience in a construction environment, and experience working with US or international clients.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate 5 to 10 multifamily renovation and light commercial projects at a time, from start to close out
- Brief Superintendents before site visits on what to inspect and verify, and follow up on their field reports afterwards
- Communicate daily with subcontractors, crew leads and suppliers to keep work on schedule
- Coordinate material orders and track deliveries to avoid delays
- Track project budgets, process change orders, and flag cost or schedule risks early, with possible solutions
- Keep project records up to date in ClickUp, same day
- Communicate clearly and professionally with US based clients and internal teams
