About the role
As a Quality Control Officer at Dis-Chem in Midrand, you will be the person who makes sure every product that comes in, gets stored, or goes out meets the company's quality and compliance standards. You will be based at warehouse level and work closely with teams across the distribution centre.
What you will be doing day to day:
- Inspecting incoming products and verifying that they meet quality and compliance standards.
- Conducting audits and coordinating sampling so product integrity is maintained across the supply chain.
- Sampling products during receiving processes and rejecting anything that does not meet the specified standards.
- Identifying, reporting, and helping resolve product defects and discrepancies.
- Working with warehouse teams, suppliers, and compliance teams to coordinate inspections of local and imported stock with regulatory bodies.
- Keeping accurate records of quality control activities, inspection reports, sample tracking, and audit results.
- Escalating quality risks and non-compliance concerns when they come up.

Requirements
- A Diploma in Quality Control, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or 2 to 5 years of experience in quality control, warehousing, retail, or a related role.
- Experience in product inspection, inventory handling, and compliance with quality standards is preferred.
- A Health and Safety certification related to warehouse operations would be an advantage.
- Quality control and inspection expertise.
- Strong attention to detail and operational discipline.
- Understanding of warehouse and supply chain processes.
- Good regulatory and compliance knowledge.
- Analytical capability and the ability to understand product safety and quality standards.
- Comfortable engaging with various stakeholders.
