Qualified Solar PV Installer (Renewable Energy) Newcastle
The Recruitment Guy · Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal
Overview
A project based opportunity for a qualified Solar PV Installer to work on residential renewable energy installations around Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal. You will handle solar panels, inverters, battery storage and DB integration while working independently as a subcontractor. Rates are negotiated per completed installation, with potential for long term work. If you have your own tools and a strong technical background in solar PV, this role is worth exploring.
About the role
This role is all about getting residential solar PV systems installed properly, safely and on time. You will work as an independent contractor on installation projects in and around Newcastle, bringing your practical solar and electrical skills to each site.
Your day to day will include mounting and connecting solar panels, setting up inverters and battery storage, doing DB wiring and integration, and then testing and commissioning the whole system. You will also need to spot and sort out technical issues as they come up, and make sure every installation meets SANS regulations and electrical safety standards.
Because you will be working independently on site, you will need to coordinate with project stakeholders and keep good documentation. You should be comfortable travelling or relocating for projects when needed.
To apply, send your CV in Word or PDF format to therecruitmentguy@outlook.com with the reference TRG 2570 in the subject line.

Success Guide
This is a hands on, project based role, so your CV should show real solar PV installations you have completed. Highlight the types of systems you have worked on (panels, inverters, batteries, DB boards) and mention any CoC related experience. Also make it clear that you have your own tools, because that is a deal breaker here.
In an interview, be ready to talk through how you handle fault finding on site and how you make sure installations meet SANS rules. They will likely ask about your ability to work independently and travel for projects. Have references ready from previous installations.
Send your CV in Word or PDF to therecruitmentguy@outlook.com with the subject line TRG 2570. Good luck!
