About the role
Meadow Feeds Paarl is looking for a qualified Fitter and Turner to join their maintenance team. You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment throughout the plant, making sure production runs without unnecessary downtime.
Day to day you will monitor equipment condition, carry out mechanical maintenance, do fitting and welding, manufacture parts on lathes and milling machines, plan mechanical work and help commission new equipment. You will work closely with the production team and follow strict health, safety and quality standards.
This is a permanent full time position based in Paarl. The company offers a competitive total cost to company salary package and will require you to work overtime and standby duties on a roster basis. You must be willing to relocate to be close to the factory.

Requirements
- Qualified Fitter and Turner with a minimum N3 certificate
- Completed apprenticeship with a trade test certificate
- At least 3 years experience as a Fitter and Turner, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with gearboxes, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems will be a definite advantage
- Proactive and able to use your own initiative
- Continuous improvement mindset and able to work in a team and independently
- Personal and professional integrity
- Willing to work overtime and carry out standby duties on a roster basis
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures including Health and Safety and risk management
- Commit to and comply with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, 20 Keys and Astral Code of Ethics requirements
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times
- Willing to relocate to the close vicinity of the factory
- Must attach a copy of your trade certificate with your application
