QC Supervisor - Food Manufacturing
Sundra

Sundra is looking for a hands on QC Supervisor to lead a small team of four in a busy food manufacturing plant. If you have a food science or quality qualification and enjoy practical, systems driven work, this is for you.
About the role
Sundra is hiring a QC Supervisor to oversee quality control across its manufacturing site. This is a practical, hands on role where no two days look the same. You will supervise a small team of four QC workers and make sure every batch meets specification before it goes out the door.

- Manage production line checks including moisture, kibble size and bulk density
- Perform advanced lab testing like microbiology and water activity
- Keep hygiene, housekeeping and food safety standards on track
- Release conforming batches and place non conforming product on hold
- Maintain accurate documentation, traceability records and SOPs
This role suits someone who takes pride in accurate paperwork, enjoys working within systems and is not afraid to get their hands dirty. You will work closely with production staff and report your findings to the responsible director.

- Verify metal detector and weight check records, and place out of specification product on hold
- Perform advanced lab testing including microbiology and water activity, and calibrate lab equipment
- Conduct hygiene and housekeeping inspections and monitor staff compliance with PPE rules
- Manage pest control contractor and control glass, hard plastics and chemicals on site

Success Guide
This QC Supervisor role is a great fit if you have a food technology or quality qualification and enjoy being on the factory floor as much as in the lab. Sundra is looking for someone who can lead a small team and keep standards tight without cutting corners.
When you apply, make sure your CV clearly shows your qualification and any ISO 22000 or HACCP exposure. Mention specific testing you have done, like microbiology or aflatoxin tests, and highlight any experience supervising or training staff.
In an interview, expect questions about food safety practices, how you handle out of specification batches, and how you keep accurate records under pressure. Be ready to talk about a time you spotted a quality problem and what you did about it. Show that you are practical hands on and detail focused.
