About the role
Linear Concepts is the country's leading manufacturer of luxury kitchens, bars and wine cellars, and they need a Production Manager who can turn showroom visions into flawless reality. This is a factory-floor leadership role for someone who understands both the beauty and the technical precision of custom cabinetry.
What the day to day looks like:
- Directing joiners, CNC operators, edge-banders, sprayers and assembly technicians to keep production flowing smoothly.
- Planning and monitoring schedules so projects hit tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Auditing technical drawings, CAD/CAM output and cutting lists before materials are processed to catch errors early.
- Inspecting finished joinery before dispatch to ensure every edge, veneer and lacquer meets luxury standards.
- Using monday.com or similar tracking software to update project status and lead times.
- Driving lean manufacturing, safety and waste reduction across the workshop.
Requirements
- 5+ years as a Production Manager, Factory Supervisor or Workshop Manager in high-end custom joinery, bespoke kitchen manufacturing or architectural woodwork.
- Hands-on expertise with luxury finishes: natural wood veneers, high-gloss lacquers, spray painting, textured boards and fluted panels.
- Deep knowledge of premium hardware systems such as Blum, Grass, Salice and Häfele, plus motorized pocket doors and kinetic mechanisms.
- Ability to read, interpret and audit technical drawings, CAD files, cutting lists and CNC programming outputs (AutoCAD, CAD+T or similar).
- Sound understanding of modern woodworking machinery including CNC routers, edge-banders, panel saws and spray booths.
- Proficiency with production tracking tools like monday.com or comparable ERP/MRP systems.
- Trade qualification, diploma or degree in Wood Technology, Cabinetmaking, Furniture Production, Industrial Engineering or Production Management is preferred.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong leadership and conflict resolution skills, and sharp problem-solving ability.
- Must already be based in Gauteng.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations from raw board processing through to final assembly and dispatch.
- Plan and manage production schedules, machine usage and resource allocation to meet strict project timelines.
- Mentor and supervise joiners, CNC operators, edge-banders, sprayers and assembly technicians.
- Enforce rigorous quality checks at every stage, including edge-banding, veneer matching, lacquer application and handling of complex materials.
- Personally inspect completed joinery and custom features before packing to ensure 100% compliance with drawings and luxury standards.
- Review technical drawings, CAD/CAM output and cutting lists before production to catch discrepancies.
- Verify panel sizing, drilling patterns, hardware routings and joinery details match architectural specifications down to the millimeter.
- Identify root causes of errors and implement corrective actions to reduce rework and waste.
- Use operational tracking software like monday.com to update project status and lead times.
- Enforce workshop cleanliness, tool maintenance and safety protocols while monitoring waste and stock usage.
