Overview
A hands on Production Manager role with a beverage manufacturer in the Eastern Cape. If you have 3 to 5 years managing production teams in food or beverage manufacturing and understand bottling, filling and food safety, this could be your next step. You will oversee schedules, quality and output while leading supervisors and team leaders on the factory floor.
About the role
Our client is looking for a results driven Production Manager to coordinate and drive performance across their beverage manufacturing operations. This is a hands on role for someone who understands high volume production, quality control and keeping output consistent.
What you will be doing:- Oversee production activities across assigned manufacturing areas
- Develop and monitor production schedules based on demand
- Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery requirements are met
- Manage production supervisors, team leaders and operational staff
- Monitor line performance, productivity and overall equipment effectiveness
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions
- Control production losses, waste and unnecessary operating costs
- Ensure correct handling and availability of raw materials and packaging
- Work closely with quality assurance and technical teams
- Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene and good manufacturing practices
- Coordinate planned maintenance and respond to equipment related challenges
- Support employee training, performance management and skills development
- Promote a safe, disciplined and improvement focused working environment

Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Operations Management Diploma advantageous
- 3 to 5 years Production Management experience in beverage or food manufacturing
- Proven experience managing production teams in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge of bottling, filling, blending, processing or packaging operations advantageous
- Understanding of food safety, quality assurance and hygiene requirements
- Knowledge of production planning and performance measurement
- Commercial awareness and cost control abilities
- Ability to analyse production data and identify improvement opportunities
