Standard Bank is looking for a Prestige Banking Relationship Banker in Swellendam, Western Cape. You will manage and grow a portfolio of high value clients, helping them with lending, transactions, digital banking and referring them to specialists for wealth and investment needs. About the role
As a Prestige Banking Relationship Banker at Standard Bank in Swellendam, you will be the trusted face for a portfolio of Prestige clients. Your main focus will be on building strong relationships, understanding what your clients need and helping them get the most out of their banking. You will have real conversations with clients about their financial goals, whether that is a home loan, a better transactional account or planning for their future.
Day to day, you will manage and grow your client portfolio through proactive engagement, structured reviews and needs based conversations. You will look for opportunities to deepen relationships across lending, digital banking and rewards. When clients need wealth, investment, fiduciary or estate planning advice, you will refer them to the right specialists and work closely with those teams.
You will also be responsible for actioning client requests quickly and efficiently across digital, voice and branch channels, making sure every interaction feels seamless. Compliance is key, so you will need to stay on top of AML, KYC, due diligence, arrears management and all regulatory requirements, completing them on time.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Banking, Finance or a related field, or an Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) that is a FAIS recognised qualification
- A valid driver's licence and the mobility to travel to client sites
- At least 2 years of total banking experience
- 1 to 2 years of FAIS related experience in a physical, virtual or voice branch environment
- Proven experience in relationship banking, managing a personal, prestige or affluent client portfolio
- Exposure to wealth management, investment consulting or financial planning referral environments
- Demonstrated ability to grow a portfolio, drive product entrenchment across lending, transactional and digital banking, and retain clients
- Experience working across multi channel environments to action client requests, manage credit applications and resolve service gaps
- Strong behavioral competencies including articulating information, challenging ideas, conveying self confidence, convincing people and developing expertise
- Technical knowledge of banking processes and procedures, client knowledge, client retention and servicing, customer understanding in consumer banking, and risk awareness and identification

- Deepen client banking relationships by identifying opportunities across transactional, lending, digital and rewards solutions
- Identify wealth, investment, fiduciary and estate planning needs and refer clients to Financial Planners, Investment Consultants and specialist teams
- Conduct structured client reviews to understand financial goals and recommend appropriate banking solutions
- Action client service requests efficiently across digital, voice and branch channels, ensuring fast turnaround and a seamless client experience
- Uphold governance and compliance standards by completing all AML, KYC, due diligence, arrears management and regulatory requirements on time
