You will work with artisans, do routine checks and record keeping, and make sure the plant rooms stay clean and compliant. About the role
As a Plant Room Attendant at Goldi in Standerton, you will support the engineering and maintenance team with the daily operation of ammonia refrigeration equipment. Your work will help keep the plant running efficiently and safely.
What you will do:
- Operate all ammonia refrigeration equipment safely and according to operating procedures.
- Assist artisans with maintenance tasks on refrigeration equipment.
- Monitor and record critical readings on check sheets.
- Carry out start up inspection checks.
- Follow strict safety and maintenance procedures.
- Keep the plant rooms and surrounding areas clean and tidy.
- Report refrigeration issues immediately to the refrigeration Foreman.
Application notes: This position is based in Standerton, South Africa. The role is full time and permanent. You must be prepared to work overtime, shifts, weekends and public holidays as needed.
Requirements
- Matric or Grade 12 certificate.
- Relevant technical and operating experience with ammonia refrigeration equipment.
- Registered with SARACA as a CAT A gas practitioner.
- At least 3 years of experience in planned routine and preventative maintenance.
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
- Sober habits.
- Must adhere to all relevant industry regulations.
- Experience in the food processing industry would be an advantage.
- Willingness to work overtime, shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Operate ammonia refrigeration equipment safely and in line with established operating procedures.
- Assist artisans with the maintenance of ammonia refrigeration equipment.
- Monitor and record critical information on check sheets.
- Perform start up inspection checks.
- Adhere to strict safety operating and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure housekeeping in and around the plant rooms is of a high standard.
- Immediately report refrigeration issues to the refrigeration Foreman.
