About the role
Sasso Consulting is looking for experienced Public Key Infrastructure and Cryptographic Specialists to join their team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will implement, manage, and secure enterprise PKI environments. You will work with digital certificates, encryption technologies, cryptographic key management, and enterprise security infrastructure on a daily basis.
You will be part of a team that designs and maintains critical security systems, configures Certificate Authorities, manages certificate lifecycles, and supports Hardware Security Modules. This is a permanent, full-time position with five openings available, so there is a strong chance to secure a spot if your skills match.
You will also troubleshoot PKI and encryption issues, support integration with Active Directory and cloud platforms, and automate certificate management processes. The role requires someone who is detail-oriented and passionate about keeping enterprise systems secure.

- Relevant IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Security diploma or degree
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant PKI or cryptographic security experience
- Proven hands-on enterprise PKI administration and implementation experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft AD CS, Certificate Authority, and X.509 certificates
- Experience with cryptographic key management, SSL/TLS, and encryption technologies
- Knowledge of certificate revocation, CRLs, OCSP, and digital signatures
- Familiarity with HSMs, Azure Key Vault, or AWS KMS
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise networking
- PowerShell, OpenSSL, or certificate automation experience is advantageous
- Relevant Microsoft, CISSP, CCSP, or Security+ certifications are advantageous
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise PKI infrastructure
- Configure and administer Certificate Authorities, including Microsoft AD CS
- Manage digital certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and lifecycle processes
- Implement cryptographic key management and encryption solutions
- Configure and support Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates and certificate-based authentication
- Troubleshoot PKI, encryption, and certificate-related issues
- Support PKI integration with Active Directory, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications
- Automate certificate management and monitor security compliance
- Maintain PKI documentation, security controls, and audit records
