Overview
Unicare Parklands is looking for a passionate Pharmacist to join their 24 hour pharmacy team in Cape Town. This permanent role covers both night and day shifts and is ideal for a newly qualified pharmacist who has completed community service and wants to grow in a retail pharmacy setting. You will provide excellent pharmaceutical care, support customers with their health needs, and work closely with a supportive dispensary team.
About the role
Unicare Parklands, part of the Clicks Group, is hiring a Pharmacist to work through the night and day at their 24 hour pharmacy. You will report to the Dispensary Manager and play a key role in delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care to the community.
What the role involves:
- Dispensing medication accurately and safely, including generic substitution, while giving sound pharmaceutical advice.
- Managing dispensary operations such as stock control, shrinkage prevention, housekeeping and administration.
- Supporting and coaching Pharmacist Assistants and Interns when needed.
- Building good relationships with clinics, healthcare departments and other stakeholders.
- Working both night and day shifts as part of a 24 hour pharmacy team.

Requirements
- B Pharm Degree
- 0 to 2 years experience after community service
- Retail pharmacy experience is desirable
- Knowledge of SAPC regulations and relevant legal requirements
- Customer service orientation and effective patient care
- Professional counselling skills
- Integrity, ethical working practice and compliance
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to coach and tutor others
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high standards of pharmaceutical care and safe dispensing, including generic substitution.
- Offer advice in line with UniCare ways of working, good pharmacy practice and SAPC scope of practice.
- Execute dispensary operations including stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping and administration.
- Oversee training and development of Pharmacist Assistants and Pharmacist Interns when required.
- Build and maintain sound working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure integration with clinic and healthcare departments to offer a full healthcare service to customers.
