About the role
Our client, a logistics company based in Johannesburg, is hiring an Operations Supervisor for Collections. In this role you will coordinate the daily collection and delivery activities across the Johannesburg region, lead the team and make sure scheduled collections are completed on time.
What you will be doing:
- Supervise and coordinate daily collection and delivery operations
- Ensure that all scheduled collections are completed within the required timeframe
- Support the team operationally and assist with deliveries and collections when needed
- Communicate proactively with key clients about collection and delivery arrangements, delays and service updates
- Monitor daily progress, address operational challenges and escalate issues where necessary
- Promote teamwork, accountability and a high standard of customer service
This is a hands-on supervisory role in a fast-paced logistics environment, so a practical, problem-solving approach and solid knowledge of the Johannesburg region are important.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated supervisory and people-management skills
- Strong working knowledge of the Johannesburg region
- Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving abilities
- Leadership and team coordination skills
- A hands-on, team-oriented approach and willingness to support operational activities
- Own reliable transport
- Knowledge of Parcel Perfect is preferred
- Customer-focused communication, planning and prioritisation, attention to detail, reliability and accountability
