Based in Diep River, this permanent role offers full training in solar PV, battery backup and maintenance. About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified Electrician to join an established solar energy company in Diep River. You will receive full training in solar installation, battery backup and maintenance processes, giving you practical experience in the renewable energy sector.
What you will be doing:
- Assist with site inspections and preparation for electrical and solar installations
- Prepare and update installation material lists
- Install solar PV systems, inverters and battery backup systems
- Help connect systems to the electrical supply and separate circuits
- Support electrical testing, fault finding and system commissioning
- Set up internet connectivity and system monitoring apps
- Explain system operation to clients
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and callouts
- Perform minor electrical works and energy efficiency improvements
- Maintain project updates and communicate with the team
Requirements
- Recently completed Red Seal or Electrical Trade Test
- Sound foundational knowledge of single phase electrical systems, electrical testing and safe working practices
- Valid driver's licence
- Willingness to travel occasionally to remote project sites
- Ability to perform practical installation duties and work at heights
- Working at heights certification to be obtained after appointment
- Responsible approach to safety, tools and equipment
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Reliability, initiative and genuine interest in learning
Responsibilities
