The South African Reserve Bank is looking for an experienced Network Security Architect to join their team in Pretoria. This is a senior full time role where you will design, plan and oversee network security solutions for the SARB Group. About the role
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is hiring a Network Security Architect to work within their Business Solutions and Technology Department in Pretoria. This is a senior position for someone who enjoys designing and overseeing the implementation of network security solutions at an enterprise level.
You will be part of a team responsible for researching and recommending emerging network security solutions, defining the SARB Group network security architecture, and ensuring it aligns with industry best practices. Your work will directly contribute to the security and resilience of the SARB Group's ICT environment.
This role offers the chance to work on large scale security projects, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and provide expert guidance on network security architectures. You will also be involved in disaster recovery planning and ensuring optimal performance, continuity and scalability of network security systems.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Postgraduate Diploma or Honours degree (NQF 8) in IT, computer science or an equivalent qualification
- TOGAF certification
- CISCO Network Security certification
- CISSP certification will be an added advantage
- ITIL v3/4 and COBIT 2019 will be an added advantage
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in network security architecture
- Strong track record of designing and implementing network security solutions in enterprise organisations
- Excellent technical knowledge of infrastructure services
- Comprehensive hands-on infrastructure services troubleshooting experience
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides
- Knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement of infrastructure services
- Industry, organisational and business awareness
- Ability to liaise with external service providers for product and technology review
Responsibilities
- Research and recommend emerging network security solutions and participate in procurement aligned to business strategy
- Define and evolve the SARB Group network security architecture
- Plan and develop network security architecture blueprints and roadmaps
- Oversee the implementation of network security designs to ensure alignment with defined architecture
- Provide expert guidance on network security architectures and optimisation
- Lead the design of infrastructure solutions
- Implement and maintain the governance and security model for network security
- Develop and document technical standards, procedures, user guides and SOPs
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure functionality of deployed solutions
- Identify, address and remediate risks in the network security environment
- Stay abreast of new developments in network security architectures and technologies
- Provide architectural expertise in ICT network security projects
- Take responsibility for network security planning for disaster recovery and resource allocation
